Asagiri Chihaya「朝霧ちはや」is a supporting character of Aikatsu Dive! and a main character in the second season. She is a first year idol attending Starlight Academy. She meets Honoka and Natsuko during their christmas preparations.

Becoming an idol[]
Chihaya is the second youngest daughter of a theater diva from Europe and a financier from Japan. Despite her young age, Chihaya is actually very independent and wild. She's always looking for new doors that open up towards new chances in life. She visits her favorite restaurant almost every day after school in order to have a nice that with its owner. One day, the owner told Chihaya about her old days as idol and showed her some stages and coords she used to use back then. Inspired by the images, Chihaya decided to look more into the brand she was shown, and totally fell in love with its designs. Chihaya then applied to take an entrance exam at an idol academy and even got accepted.

Etymology[]
Asagiri - Asagiri means "morning mist" in Japanese. It is a combination of Asa (朝?) meaning "morning" and Giri (霧?) meaning "fog" or "mist".
Chihaya - Chihaya is a Japanese given name, which most likely means "a thousand excellent feathers", coming from Chi (千?) meaning "thousand", Ha (羽?) meaning "feather" and Ya (優?) meaning "excellent".
